N2 - The purpose of this article is to explore the use of visual programming alongside a problem-solving approach to foster a positive attitude towards formative research among engineering students at the beginning of their university studies. Classroom research activities were structured according to the four stages of the problem-solving method. These activities were carried out using an Arduino board, various sensors, and a visual programming environment. The results indicate that most students perceive their attitude towards formative research as high or very high.
