Resumen
The objective of the article was to analyze Peru's space policy from a historical perspective, identifying its main challenges. A qualitative approach was used, based on the analysis of social and cultural phenomena from open sources, both journalistic and official, including documents from the Peruvian Space Agency. The results reveal significant progress in the training of engineers in public and private universities, although Aerospace Engineering is not yet offered as a formal educational option. Likewise, there are successful experiences of launching nanosatellites by Peruvian universities, in collaboration with foreign space agencies. The main conclusion is that, although Peru has a strategic geographical location for rocket launches and has a legacy of international cooperation in the space field, it still lacks a clearly defined National Space Policy in comparison with its regional peers.
