The aim of the study was to determine the in vitro inhibitory effect of the ethanol extract of Plantago major "llanten" on strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus β-hemolytic. The diffusion method was used for the ethanolic extract, for the formation of inhibition halos and the macrodilution method in Caldo to determine the MIC. It was found that P. major is sensitive for Staphylococcus aureus with an average inhibition halo of 14.64 mm and an average of 150 mg / ml with respect to the MIC. While Streptococcus-β-hemolytic did not show sensitivity. Plantago major showed an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus.
