Resumen

/The heritage of rural Andean peoples in Peru is under threat from several anthropic actions, among them, mining. This is the case of San Pedro de Coris, a naturally and culturally devastated town which has suffered impacts on its economic activities, for example tourism, in addition to losses in its architectural identity due to the use of unsustainable materials. Based on an understanding of natural and cultural heritage; a theoretical-conceptual revision of vernacular and ecological architecture; the acknowledgment of the territory; and the identification of bamboo as a potential resource and key construction material, 17 variables-components were selected to be assessed in order to characterize and define 27 architectural guidelines. These are the same variables used in the conceptualization-first image of a project related to the Cori thermal baths. The goal is to underpin the development of technical-regulatory tools, such as the urban and building parameters for the sustainable urban-rural development plans in each populated town or city.
