Resumen

In the academic community, although the debate, analysis and reflection on the content and scope of the institutions of the economic model of the Political Constitution are relevant, the effects that it generates and whether they are favorable or not are also transcendental. In this direction, the research established the contribution of the rules of the game of the 1993 constitutional economic model to Peruvian economic performance. The study design was non-experimental, cross-sectional, retrospective and analytical; its scope was explanatory, relational and descriptive. The unit of study was the 1993 economic Constitution, as well as data on economic growth. The data collection technique was documentary review. The main result is that there is a significant positive relationship between the social market economy model established in the 1993 Constitution and Peruvian economic performance. It is concluded that the free market rules, the subsidiary role of the State in the economy, the preservation of monetary stability and the reforms implemented in the 1990s contributed to sustained economic growth in the period 1993-2019.
