Abstract

The global crisis of COVID-19 has exposed a set of challenges in health, economy and education. Although some of the productive activities have been conducted through the rational use of digital technology, the social and formative nature of school education is a particularly complex issue. It requires numerous processes, including a methodological change, based on distance education (DE), the development of institutions and digital infrastructure, consonance with the particular and cultural needs of students and a competitive mastery of the tools available to the faculty. Therefore, this article reflects on the current diagnosis of Peruvian school education, with the purpose of explaining the problem from a systemic perspective and formulating improvements for present and future scenarios.
