Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the project method in the learning of industrial chemistry in students of the fourth semester of Industrial Engineering of a private university, located in the city of Lima, Peru. The topics addressed through this methodology were: laboratory safety standards, materials, reagents and laboratory equipment, density of liquids and solids, physical and/or chemical phenomena, methods of separation of mixtures and measurement of pH and Brix degrees. The research approach was a quantitative quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest in an experimental and a control group. The results showed that the implementation of the project method significantly influenced learning in the experimental group.
