The shipyard has been operating for 75 years, has more than 1,500 workers and has a national and international presence. The methodology was quantitative, correlational. The sample consisted of 92 respondents and questionnaires with a Likert-type scale were used. The results evidenced the relationship between intellectual capital and organizational performance; as well as the relationship between the components of intellectual capital and organizational performance. It is concluded on the need for the shipyard to develop as part of its strategy a management focused on the development and strengthening of intangibles as a necessary condition to remain competitive and achieve superior performance.
