Abstract

© 2018 Universidad de Santiago de Chile. All rights reserved. The argumentation is a fundamental procedure in the poetry of Jorge Luis Borges. The poet argues on the basis of the use of certain figurative fields and also reflects on the transience of life and Buenos Aires as a modern city. Thus, it emphasizes the specificity of Latin American literature.
